第三講 狀語(yǔ)從句和并列句
一、 改正下列句子中的唯一錯(cuò)誤:
1.The speaker was so nervous as he could hardly say a sentence.
【答案】(結(jié)果狀語(yǔ)從句)as改為that
【解析】句意:發(fā)言者緊張得幾乎連一句話也說(shuō)不出來(lái)。根據(jù)語(yǔ)境可知此處為結(jié)果狀語(yǔ)從句,而不是定語(yǔ)從句。so...that為固定結(jié)構(gòu),引導(dǎo)結(jié)果狀語(yǔ)從句。
2. The famous scientist grew up which he was born and in 1930 he came to Shanghai.
【答案】(地點(diǎn)狀語(yǔ)從句)which→where
【解析】分析句子結(jié)構(gòu)可知,"which he was born"是地點(diǎn)狀語(yǔ)從句,故把which改為where。
3. The games my parents taught me where I was a child turned out to be very useful later in my life.
【答案】(時(shí)間狀語(yǔ)從句)where→when
【解析】句意:我小時(shí)候父母教我的游戲后來(lái)證明在我以后的生活非常有用。由語(yǔ)境可知,此處為時(shí)間狀語(yǔ)從句,表示”當(dāng)……時(shí)”,故用when。

There are many teachers work in our school, so my favorite teacher is John Smith. Mr. Smith makes me feel important and successful at school. He is a good role model which inspires us to be better students. He does this by always being enthusiastic, friendly and devoting to teaching. He is easy to talk and always listens to the problems of his students patient. He even does after-school group lesson for those students who doesn't understand the knowledge in class. He is also caring for and motivated. He shows that he loves teaching by helping us and working with passion. All these qualities make her not just my favorite but all the students' favorite.

第三處:which→who/that此句為定語(yǔ)從句,先行詞為role model,指人,因此應(yīng)用who或that引導(dǎo)。故將which改為who或that。
第四處:devoting→devoted be devoted to(doing)sth.為固定結(jié)構(gòu),意為“獻(xiàn)身于/專注于(做)某事”。此處,enthusiastic,friendly與devoted 并列。故將 devoting 改為 devoted。
第五處:在talk后加to在“sb./sth.be+adj.+todo”結(jié)構(gòu)中,如動(dòng)詞為不及物動(dòng)詞,其后的介詞不可省。talk to意為“與……交談”。
第六處:patient→patiently句意為:他很易于交談,而且總是耐心地傾聽(tīng)學(xué)生的問(wèn)題。listen to為動(dòng)詞短語(yǔ),應(yīng)用副詞修飾。故將patient 改為 patiently。
第七處:lesson→lessons根據(jù)語(yǔ)境可知,史密斯老師課后為一些學(xué)生上小組課。lesson意為“課”,為可數(shù)名詞,且此處指“不止次上課”,應(yīng)用復(fù)數(shù)形式。故將lesson改為lessons。
第八處:doesn't→don't 此句為定語(yǔ)從句,先行詞為students,為復(fù)數(shù)謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞也應(yīng)用復(fù)數(shù)形式。故將doesn't改為don't。
第九處:刪除for系動(dòng)詞is后接形容詞作表語(yǔ);and連接并列成分,此caring與motivated同為形容詞,caring意為“體貼的”。故將caring后的for刪除。care for意為“關(guān)心;照顧”,為動(dòng)詞短語(yǔ)。
第十處:her→him 此處指代約翰·史密斯,作make的賓語(yǔ),因此應(yīng)用him。故將her改為him。
