★Spectacular value!
By Marissa McRoberts on November 29
The typical price per piece of Lego has been slightly more than
10 since 2005.At
101 for 160 pieces,this set is about
0.6 per piece.It is a great deal.
But there are some downsides:no wheels, bushes, trees, grass, technic elements and that sort of thing, otherwise this is a fantastic starter set.
★A great deal!
By Shawn Bosworth on December 6
I got this set as a Black Friday deal for an amazing
30!I wanted two sets but they were gone before I could even get my hands on one.A very nice man gave me a spare that he grabbed. It’s huge, strong and well-made.The box is about two feet tall and is strong enough for a storage option.I will absolutely be looking to get another set one day!
★Impressive gift,even more impressive value!
By Katie Kate on December 25

I have two kids,a boy and a girl.I don’t worry about my girl;I’m sure she’ll be well trained in mixed martial arts.I worry about my son.I’m pretty sure he’s going to be feminine(女性化的).Sorry to say that, but let’s face it.No dad wants his son to go feminine.
At the rate we’re moving in a couple of years you won’t be able to tell the difference between boys and girls.Sound extreme?Think about this.In every movie where advanced time-traveling beings come to our planet there’s one constant:You can’t tell the male aliens from the female aliens!
But that’s the future.Kids today are soft and fat.People ask why.Is it junk food? No.Junk food has been around for fifty years. Is it video games? No.Video games have been around for thirty years.None of the kids playing them back in the day were terribly obese. We’re all scratching our heads trying to figure out what we’ve introduced to society to ruin our kids. But it’s not anything we’ve added that has ruined our kids. It’s stuff we’ve gotten rid of.
Take the gym rope for example.Remember that thing that stretched from the floor to the ceiling in your gym class that you could never climb? Most of the kids couldn’t make it to the top.But that wasn’t the point;the point was you had to try while some middle-aged guys who couldn’t make it up a flight of stairs shouted at you.We should have put our son on that rope, and given him a head start. But we didn’t want to shame the boy,so we took it down.
Taking down the rope would be a good idea if there were no ropes in life. But they’re everywhere. You just can’t see them. They’re in every goal unrealized and expectation not met.The point everyone missed about the rope is you weren’t supposed to make it to the top.It was there to create a fire that burned in the oversized belly of every kid.
24.What is the example of aliens used to show?
A.Girls are growing like boys.
B.Boys are going feminine.
C.There are really time-traveling beings.
D.Alien movies are popular with children.
根據(jù)“you won’t be able to tell the difference between boys and girls”再結(jié)合第一段最后一句可知第二段作者給出外星人的例子目的是說(shuō)現(xiàn)在的男孩子女性化了,故答案為B項(xiàng)。

In the United States,30 percent of the people have a “weight problem”.To many people the cause is obvious(明顯的):they eat too much. But scientific evidence does little to support this idea.Going back to America of 1910,we find that people were thinner than today, yet they ate more food.In those days people worked harder physically, walked more, used machines much less, and didn’t watch television.
Several modern studies, moreover, have shown that fatter people don’t eat more on average than thinner people.A 1979 study of 3,545 London office workers shows that fat people eat less than slim(苗條的) people.
Studies also show that slim people are more active than fat people.A study by a research group at Stanford University found the following interesting facts:The more the man ran,the greater loss of the body fat.The more they ran,the greater increase in food intake.
Thus, those who ran the most ate the most, yet lost the greatest amount of body fat.

Just up the road from my home is a field, with two horses in it.From a distance, each horse looks like any other horse. But if you get a ??61 ?(close) look you will notice one of them is blind.
Instead of abandoning him,his owner has made him a safe and comfortable barn to live in.And if you stand nearby and listen, you will hear the sound of a bell ??62 ?(come) from ??63 ??smaller horse.Attached to ??64 ?(it) halter is a small,copper-colored bell assisting the blind friend to follow him.
??65 ??you watch them, you’ll find the horse with the bell always checking on the blind one,and that the blind horse will listen for the bell and then slowly walk to ??66 ??the other one is,trusting he will not ??67 ?(lead) astray. When the horse with the bell returns to the barn each evening,he will stop ??68 ?(frequent) to look back, making sure that the ??69 ??isn’t too far behind to hear the bell.
Life does not throw us away just because we are not perfect or because we have problems or challenges.Sometimes we are the blind horse being guided by the little ringing bell of our acquaintances;??70 ??other times we are the guide horse, who helps others to find their way.
63.答案 a
64.答案 its
65.答案 As/When
66.答案 where
67.答案 be ?led
69.答案 other
70.答案 at
此處表示“在另外一些時(shí)候(at other times)”。

Dear Headmaster,
We have been asked about our opinions on opening?iPad classrooms.?I am in favor of this plan for the following reasons. To begin with, everyone learns differently.Students can customize their iPads with materials that fit their level and learning style, and thus tailor it to different needs. Moreover, when connected to the Internet, students can interact with teachers and classmates about what they learn more conveniently. For the sake of environmental protection, opening iPad classrooms is a good way to save trees that we have been cutting down for paper. Most importantly,I believe students will develop their interests in the subjects by enjoying a new way of learning.
I hope you would take my ideas into consideration and we look forward to attending an iPad class.
Yours sincerely,
Li Hua
